Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor - Mechanical is responsible for leading and directing the mechanical maintenance team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all manufacturing equipment and systems. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical assets, managing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement in mechanical reliability and team performance. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in upholding safety standards, minimizing downtime, and optimizing resource utilization, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance mechanics fostering a culture of safety, accountability, engagement and continuous learning. Provide expertise and technical guidance to the team in diagnosing, and resolving complex mechanical issues on equipment, machinery and systems.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance processes and performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs and facilitate the development of mechanical skills within the team
- Oversee the hands-on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and specialized production machinery.
- Ensure all mechanical work is performed according to manufacturer specifications, engineering drawings, blueprints, and industry best practices.
- Lead the maintenance team on major mechanical repairs, overhauls, and equipment rebuilds, minimizing disruption to production.
- Respond to emergency mechanical breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and implement effective solutions to restore equipment to operational status quickly.
- Ensure PM schedules are being timely executed and accurately documented.
- Participate in maintenance scheduling meetings (weekly and outage) by balancing craft labor availability with the ready work backlog, to optimize cost, maximize work efficiency and completion.
- Oversees contractor work for safety, compliance and completion. Informs the accounting team for accurate receipt of services rendered.
- Partner with reliability teams to integrate findings from predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, oil analysis) into mechanical maintenance strategies.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of work order documentation, including labor hours, parts used, and failure codes by the mechanical team
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure availability of critical mechanical spare parts, materials and necessary tools; provide insight on stock levels for mechanical parts and assist in identifying alternative or upgraded parts.
- Manage the use of consumables and resources efficiently within the maintenance budget.
- Actively participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing equipment reliability, reducing maintenance costs and improving team efficiency.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on the installation of new equipment, providing input on maintainability and participating in commissioning activities.
- Participate in root cause analysis efforts, conditioning monitoring and preventive methodologies for significant mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
- Manages all on-site contractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time and in compliance with the contract, verifying all services are rendered as agreed.

- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 5+ years demonstrated industrial manufacturing experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process.
- 5+ years previous industrial maintenance experience
- 1+ years of previous leadership experience

- Advanced technical knowledge of mechanical equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment, power transmission (belts, chains couplings) material handling equipment, and precision mechanical assemblies.
- Understanding of common welding processes, fabrication techniques and material properties.
- Understanding of basic machine shop equipment and their applications in creating or repairing parts
- Intermediate understanding of Preventive and predictive maintenance principles
- Understanding of RCM principles and how to apply them to optimize maintenance strategies for critical assets
- Understanding of lubrication principles, types of lubricants and proper techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, P&IDs and engineering drawings
