Position Overview
BrainRobotics seeks an adaptive professional to bridge lived experience with technical insight for our Research and Development (R&D) department. As a Product Evaluation Specialist , you will directly shape the next generation of prosthetic technology through systematic testing, user-centered design feedback, and cross-departmental collaboration. This role is ideal for an individual capable of translating the real-world experience of prosthesis users into actionable product improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
- Evaluate firmware, software, hardware, and prototype performance through structured testing protocols.
- Provide user-based insights to inform product design, ergonomics, and user interface refinement.
- Assist with diagnostics and documentation of returned or used devices to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners to support research studies and data collection efforts.
Operational Support
Contribute to the Service Department by performing product testing, quality inspections, and assisting with device verification processes.Support internal product evaluation processes to ensure consistent quality and user satisfaction.Marketing & Community Engagement (Preferred)
Support trade shows, user-facing demonstrations, and media campaigns through participation in photos, videos, and storytelling initiatives.Represent BrainRobotics as a community ambassador by fostering dialogue between the company and the amputee community.Participate in the planning and execution of adaptive and community engagement events to enhance awareness and inclusivity.Compliance & Risk Awareness
Adhere to company policies and safety procedures while handling product prototypes and testing equipment.Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards when participating in R&D and user-centered testing activities.Qualifications
Functional Requirement
This position is intended for an individual who personally uses an above-knee prosthesis and can offer authentic insights into the user experience. This qualification represents a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ), as real-world feedback is essential to the position's primary responsibilities. Applicants are not required to disclose medical history or additional health details beyond confirming the ability to perform essential job functions.
Education
No formal college degree is required for this position.Training or experience related to prosthetic systems, biomechanics, or adaptive technology is a plus.Experience
Demonstrated proficiency in communicating technical feedback related to prosthesis design, usability, and functionality.Proven ability to manage complex projects and follow through from concept to completion.Experience in representing organizations or brands in public or cross-functional settings is strongly preferred.Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate constructive feedback to engineering and design teams.Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in collaborative environments.Empathetic understanding of prosthesis users' needs and challenges.Confidence in public engagement, community advocacy, or peer mentorship.Compensation & Benefits
