Pharmacy Technician (Data Entry) – Contract-to-Hire Location : Texas (Hybrid – Onsite & Remote) Pay Rate : $15.74 / hour Schedule : Full-Time | Monday–Friday Classification : Safety-Sensitive | Contract-to-Hire Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician (Data Entry) to join our mail order pharmacy operations team. This role is responsible for accurately researching and processing prescription orders, interpreting prescription data, and ensuring timely and precise entry into the pharmacy system. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, exceptional computer and typing skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term employment based on performance. Key Responsibilities Review, research, and accurately enter prescription information into the system. Read and interpret prescription terminology and medication names with precision. Identify and resolve incomplete or unclear prescriptions by contacting prescribers for clarification. Complete patient correspondence letters as required. Fax prescribers for prescription clarifications, substitutions, or formulary changes. Maintain production and quality standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. Perform other pharmacy support functions as directed by management. Required Qualifications Active Texas or Arizona State Board of Pharmacy license or trainee registration (must be listed on resume). High school diploma or GED (verifiable). Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program. Minimum 3 months of pharmacy experience. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly. Ability to type rapidly and accurately (typing test required). Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Strong understanding of generic drug names, routes of administration, and prescription terminology. Proficient in basic math calculations, including dosage and days’ supply. Flexible, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Submission Requirements The following must be included at the top of the resume for submission : Screenshot of online typing and computer proficiency assessment results. Texas or Arizona State Board of Pharmacy registration number. Completed candidate questionnaire : Are you comfortable reading and interpreting prescription terminology and medication names? Can you type rapidly while maintaining 100% accuracy? Are you able to consistently meet production and quality standards? Can you identify commonly used generic drugs and their routes of administration? Are you proficient in basic math and dosage calculations? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment? Work Arrangement Details Initial Onsite Requirement : First 8 weeks onsite (training and integration period). Hybrid / Remote Option : Eligible for remote work after 8 weeks based on performance and manager approval. Work Environment : Must have a private, distraction-free home office setup to ensure confidentiality and productivity. Training & Work Hours (Central Time) Week 1 : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM Weeks 2–8 : Monday–Thursday, 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM | Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM Weeks 9–12 : Monday–Friday, 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM
