Registered Nurse – ICU

Unit Name : MICU

Requirements :

Must have a valid TN RN License or Compact RN License in good standing

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience

Certifications Required : ACLS, BLS

Advanced Skills / Procedures Performed :

Insertion of central lines

Arterial line insertion

Lumbar punctures

Chest tube insertions

EVD insertions

Unit Specifics : Number of Beds : 31

Patient Ratios : Typically 2 : 1, may be 1 : 1 or 3 : 1 depending on acuity and staffing

Unit Staffing : Unit secretary on dayshift; occasional nurse extern functioning as tech

Equipment Used : Ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV1000

Documentation System : Meditech

Scheduling Requirements :

Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Schedules created in 4-week increments

Partial self-scheduling; manager adjusts to balance staffing

Floating Policy : Contract labor floats first - Must be willing to float to Med / Surg and take full assignment when needed

Patient Experience Expectations :

Provide attentive, compassionate care to patients and families

Dress Code :

Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms required)
