Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a current TX or compact RN license and relevant certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a short term acute care hospitalLevel II Trauma Center with a typical nurse to patient ratio of 1 : 3Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19 : 00–07 : 00, with block schedulingWeekend coverage required, with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week periodNo floating between units, but may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities if neededNo on-call requiredUses Epic EMR; EMR experience requiredExpected to provide comprehensive care to patients in an emergency and trauma settingMust commit to working at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)Solid navy blue scrubs required for nursing staff; print tops not permittedFree parking available in unrestricted employee / visitor lotsAll requested time off must be submitted up-front and extensive RTO may impact offer considerationAnnual and pre-start modules required; average completion time is 16 hoursRefusal to float between sister facilities may result in terminationCommunication devices provided if required for assignmentFirst-time travelers will be consideredRequirements
Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of considerationMinimum of 1 year Emergency Department RN experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMust provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialtyMust live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rateNo current Nursys or background check hits acceptedFormer permanent staff may return as a traveler after 3 monthsCOVID and Flu vaccination documentation requiredCompletion of required onboarding modules prior to startBenefits
