Instructional Technology Coach - Instructional Technology

PRIMARY PURPOSE :

To improve the use of technology in order to improve academic achievement and digital literacy for all students.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education / Certification :

Master’s Degree, with appropriate Texas Teacher State Certification

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS :

• Build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders; highly collaborative.
• Work with teachers and program administrators to enhance classroom instruction and student achievement through use of technology tools including Technology Application TEKS.
• Respond with initiative and innovation to the instructional technology needs of students and teachers.
• Assist in the development and deployment of professional learning sessions related to Technology Application TEKS alignment.
• Maintain professional competence in areas of responsibility.
• Communicate effectively to influence and impact others with a variety of audiences.
• Possess knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures of MISD.
• Exhibit highly effective organizational and consensus building skills.
• Possess depth and knowledge of the Technology Application TEKS.
• Possess knowledge and understanding of the change process, organizational development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills.
• Set ambitious goals for own work in alignment with department expectations, district vision, and innovative programs and initiatives.

EXPERIENCE :

• Successful experience (five or more years) as a teacher in the assigned core curricular area.
• Successful experience as a teacher utilizing technology in a core curricular area.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

• Coach teachers, administrators, and district personnel to enhance instruction and practices through the effective use of technology and innovative methods.
• Support campus and district personnel in utilizing technology-based programs related to student achievement and Technology Application TEKS alignment.
• Assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and facilitating professional learning opportunities, training, and presentations to administrators and teachers both during the school day and as PFK sessions after hours.
• Establish and maintain clear communication and collaborative relationships with district leadership, campus administrators, teachers, and support staff.
• Support personal growth and development through MISD’s Leading Through Ownership model.
