Position Overview
The Houston Public Library (HPL) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join the Customer Experience Administration team. The selected candidate should be politically savvy, should perform accurate and detailed work, and should have the ability to work with executives, HPL partners and stakeholders, and all levels of staff. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Assistant Direct of Customer Experience and must be able to work collaboratively with frontline Library staff to achieve goals. Preference will be given to those who are willing to work a rotating shift - Monday - Sunday - 8a.m. - 8p.m.

Minimum Requirements
Educational Requirements :
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts of a related field.
Experience Requirements :
Five years administrative experience are required. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferences
Experience working in government, non-profits, or libraries
Project management skills
Analytical skills and experience with process improvement
Experience with passport processes
Knowledge and skill with statistics
To better serve the communities, fluency in a foreign language, especially Spanish, is highly preferred.
Preference will be given to those who are willing to work a rotating shift - Monday - Sunday - 8a.m. - 8p.m.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
