Position Summary

Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing. Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient. Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education:Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the CoARC. Minimum Work Experience:Five (5) years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a healthcare setting preferred. Licensure/Certifications:Must be currently licensed by the State of NM as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Must be registered with NBRC (RRT). Basic Life Support (BLS). Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP). Hold a secondary credential (NRP, ACCE, RPFT, CPFT) within one year.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
