Description :

This position is on a PCU / Stepdown unit focusing on cardiac telemetry.

The unit consists of 35 beds.

The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3-4.

Charge nurses generally do not take patients but may provide break relief.

Nurse aides are available as census and staffing dictate.

Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.

Holidays rotate among core staff.

Scrub color is navy, and undershirts must be navy, white, or black.

Scrub jackets are optional but should also be navy.

Candidates will care for all cardiac stepdown patients.

Common cases include Day 1 CABG with pacer wires, chest tubes, and transvenous pacers.

Nurses will manage various gtts to titrate, including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin.

Blood sugar checks may be required every hour.

The unit operates in a fast-paced environment.

Travelers must be flexible with strong time management skills.

Cancellation policy permits up to 4 shifts to be canceled per assignment duration.

Charting is conducted using a specific electronic system.

Healthcare professionals are encouraged to apply if they meet the qualifications.
