About The Position

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH

Must-Have :

1 : 3 patient ratio with trach and ventilator management required.

Non-titrated cardiac drip management required.

Insulin 3 : 1 preferred.

Description :

1 : 3 patient ratio with trach and ventilator management is required.

Non-titrated cardiac drip management includes Amiodarone, Milrinone, Lasix, Cardizem (titrated), dopamine, and dobutamine.

Insulin 3 : 1 is preferred, but not required.

Certifications required : NIH, ACLS, BLS (AHA only).

Experience with Meditech Expanse is preferred.

First-time travelers with PCU experience and 1 : 3-4 ratios will be considered.

Weekend requirement : minimum of 2 weekends per month.

Float within areas of competency (med / surg, telemetry, observations).

Experience with Omnicell medication systems is expected.

SBAR communication is utilized.

Navy scrubs are required (not provided).

Travelers within 50 miles are not accepted.

Provider support includes interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretaries.

Skills and experience required include telemetry, post MI care, feeding tube management, renal failure management, and IV management skills.

Care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs are necessary.

Isolation precautions and wound care knowledge are required.

Additional preferred skills include managing post cardiac angiogram patients and pre / post neurosurgery management.
