Operations Analyst II
Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I within the Firearm Purchase Program (FPP), this position is responsible for the review and advanced analysis of criminal history records to determine eligibility for the purchase and possession of firearms as authorized by Florida Statute. This position is also responsible for training internal and external customers, critical review of transactions for discrepancies, and quality control of transaction evaluations. This independent work assists management in the coordination of assignments that are complex in nature and very broad in objective with the integration of diverse functions. The duties require independent planning of objectives and priorities, which may result in analysis and recommendation of changes in policies, rules and regulations. This position must meet and maintain NCIC / FCIC (National Crime Information Center / Florida Crime Information Center) certification as required, and it is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within department databases.
Specific duties include :
Knowledge of the criminal justice system; knowledge of office and administrative principles and practices; knowledge of the methods of data collection; knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; knowledge of the FCIC / NCIC, III, CCH, and NICS information systems; knowledge of customer service etiquette and ability to apply effectively; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to read and interpret law enforcement data, Florida Statutes, Commission Rules, and Divisional Policy and Procedures; ability to use internal and external resources to perform research; ability to develop and apply instructional curriculum to train others in the use of law enforcement data; ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; ability to work independently; ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the purchasing process; and ability and flexibility to adapt quickly and efficiently to changes in procedures and organizational priorities.
Base salary : $47,350.16. Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy.
