Job Description and Duties
STATE PARK INTERPRETER III NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / FORT HUMBOLDT STATE HISTORIC PARK
The reportinglocation for this position is Fort Humboldt State Historic Park at 3431 FortAvenue in Eureka.This position willwork under the direction of District Superintendent I (Deputy DistrictSuperintendent).
The StatePark Interpreter III (SPI III) for North Coast Redwoods District (NCRD) worksdirectly with Redwoods National Park Chief of Interpretation, as part ofRedwoods National and State Parks, coordinating efforts onprogramming and training.
This positionprovides management, oversight, and direction for the interpretive andeducational programs of the district that includes public programming,interpretive planning, management of PORTS, as well as program and exhibitdevelopment for the 22 units within the NCRD.
This position oversees the Education and Interpretation program districtwide and manages subordinate permanent and seasonal interpretative staff.
The SPI III actively works to garner support,fiscal and intellectual, from the Interpretation and Education divisions of the departmentas well as other entities to accomplish district interpretive goals.
The SPI III also acts as the district publicinformation officer and works closely with other district program managers,local schools, colleges, and partners to deliver Interpretive programming andeducational content about NCRD’s natural and cultural resources andrecreational opportunities.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a backgroundinvestigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
This positionis designated as not telework eligible.
Training andDevelopment Assignments may be considered.
