The Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulatory compliance within the dispensary. This includes monitoring and implementing policies and procedures that align with industry standards and legal requirements.

Job Summary

The Compliance Officer will oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance within the dispensary. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the cannabis industry.

Responsibilities

Obtain necessary state licenses for processing and distribution of cannabis.

Ensure compliance with state laws concerning product labeling, packaging, testing, and advertising.

Implement security measures like surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and secure storage areas.

Be aware that cannabis remains illegal federally in the U.S., complicating banking and financial services.

Understand and comply with tax obligations, including IRS Section 280E.

Comply with local and state advertising laws, including restrictions on promoting minors or making unverified health claims.

Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.

Conduct regular audits of dispensary operations to ensure compliance with regulations.

Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
