Position Summary : The Director, Sales & Operations provides strategic leadership for the West Region within the Blowers & Compressors business. This role oversees all sales and service operations in the territory and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow market share, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive profitability.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Drive a high‑performance culture focused on continuous growth, goal achievement, and operational excellence across the region.
- Manage top and bottom‑line financials of the region.
- Define go‑to‑market strategy for new equipment sales and aftermarket sales and service for the West region; direct day‑to‑day activities of the region’s staff in accordance with this strategy.
- Provide strategic leadership to the sales team, ensuring full‑cycle ownership of the sales process—from prospecting to close. Coach team members to manage opportunities, engage stakeholders, and drive consistent execution.
- Establish clear performance expectations and leverage sales metrics to monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and close rates. Use data‑driven insights to improve team effectiveness and align with growth targets.
- Develop and deliver accurate sales forecasts, strategic plans, and regional performance reports to senior leadership.
- Lead and support the regional aftermarket team, overseeing all equipment installed within the territory; ensure strong service execution and high customer satisfaction across service, repair, and technical support functions.
- Support key customer accounts, third‑party sales representatives, distributors, and large corporate accounts in conjunction with Regional Sales Managers; drive YOY growth.
- Recruit and hire team members; work with the company to define and deliver training programs that enable staff to grow and achieve their potential.
- Define and oversee staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the team to achieve regional goals.
- Interact with leadership team to develop, revise, and implement process improvements.
- Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity; provide feedback to company.
- Oversee support for order‑processing effort and effectively support customer follow‑up throughout order execution.
- Identify and work with marketing to deliver marketing plans as required and support preparations for regional trade shows.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Business Administration or related field.Minimum 5 years of management experience within rotating equipment or similar industry.Minimum 5 years of directly managing salespeople or aftermarket operations.Minimum 10 years of selling industrial equipment; direct experience with low‑pressure blowers and compressors is a plus.Must be able and willing to travel up to 40% of the time.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to create complex reports using Excel and PowerPoint.Intermediate proficiency with ERP systems.Intermediate proficiency with CRM software.Proficient in mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and geometric measurements.Strong motivational skills and high sense of urgency to exceed customer expectations and meet deadlines.Results‑driven team leader with proactive approach to performance management and team development.Strong sense of ownership and accountability; ensure responsibilities are executed with excellence and integrity.Salary : Base salary range $140,000 – $200,000.
