MICU RN Job Details – Columbus, Ohio

Location : Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio healthcare jobs

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) – 10 Critical Care Tower

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Duration : 13-week nursing contract (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025 – End : 3 / 2 / 2026)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1–2

Orientation : 24 hours

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

On-call : None

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,940 - $1,990

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Medical ICU or critical care RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact RN license or Ohio state license required

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Proficient with EPIC charting system

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only)

Skilled in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Two professional RN references (one from a manager, director, or supervisor)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

MICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill adults with complex diagnoses (multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, renal failure)

Operate advanced critical care equipment : NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV Pump, GE Cardiac Monitor, GE Ventilator, Boom Lift

Perform special procedures including continuous glucose monitoring and management of externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy)

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR

Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend as required

Support families and provide compassionate care during critical illness
