Job Title : Phlebotomist - Vancouver

Job Description

The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
• Update patient information and collect / store specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow all physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure labels are accurate.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone inquiries.

Work Environment

The schedule is Monday-Friday, 4 : 30 AM - 1 : 00 PM. The contract duration is initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00 / hr.
