Buyer Long-Term Contract

Location : Holland, MI (Hybrid, 23 days onsite)

Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours / week (8 : 00 AM 4 : 30 or 5 : 00 PM)

Pay Rate : $28$32 / hour

Were seeking a Buyer to join our high-volume purchasing team in Holland, MI. This is a long-term contract role offering the opportunity to support a busy supply chain operation while gaining valuable hands-on experience in procurement and supplier management. New graduates with a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities :

Purchase direct materials from project bills of material in alignment with Supply Chain Management and corporate strategy.

Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding material delivery schedules, payment terms, and product discrepancies.

Expedite materials and resolve supplier issues as needed.

Enter and maintain purchase orders in purchasing systems (Ops Manager, Baan, etc.) and ensure proper documentation.

Assist in resolving invoice and packing slip discrepancies.

Foster strong, professional relationships with suppliers and internal customers.

Contribute to departmental goals related to working capital, supplier on-time delivery, and material cost savings.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

Mentor Associate Buyers on purchasing processes and procedures.

Collaborate with Commodity / Strategic Purchasing teams to optimize supply base value.

Share and implement best practices across Supply Chain Management teams.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree (Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering preferred).

Procurement-related certification (preferred).

12 years of purchasing experience, or equivalent internship / academic project experience.

Experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment is preferred.
