Title : Working Leaderman (Structural)

Location : Fourchon, LA

Job Overview : A Working Leaderman (Structural) is responsible for directing his / her workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and / or repair functions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process.
  • Performs tank testing and associated duties as required.

Experience :

  • At least Five (5) years of assembly / prefab structural welding / fitting experience. Prior supervision experience is preferred.

    • Skills and Abilities :

  • Basic knowledge of welding / fitting specific processes and techniques in addition to being familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction.
  • Experience in structural fabrication and the ability to read / understand drawings is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, work well with others, and have the ability to plan / schedule craft-specific work tasks.
  • Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed.
