Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Virtualization Solutions Lead Specialist to drive the design, deployment, and management of virtualization platforms within our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise-level virtualization technologies, leading teams, and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of virtualized environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of virtualization solutions across the enterprise.

Develop and maintain virtualized infrastructure using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.

Provide expert guidance on capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource allocation for virtual environments.

Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualization solutions.

Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and policies for virtualization and related technologies.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.

Lead virtualization-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.

Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and team members.

Maintain documentation for architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in virtualization, cloud integration, and related infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a strong focus on virtualization technologies.

Deep expertise in VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or comparable virtualization platforms.

Experience with virtualization management tools, backup / recovery solutions, and monitoring systems.

Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and security as it relates to virtual environments.

Proven ability to design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise virtualization solutions.

Hands-on experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and high availability solutions.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders.

Certifications such as VMware VCP / VCDX, Microsoft MCSE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
