Patient Care Technician - G22W / P12A GU/Breast/General Internal Medicine

- P12A is a 32-bed inpatient unit providing care to medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies;
- primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease related symptoms, pain control, and treatment related side effects;
the administration of chemotherapy, bio immunotherapy and targeted therapy; and patient and family teaching. They serve a mainly adult population (20-60 years).
Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit / discharge and obtaining vital signs.
Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
Acts as part of an assigned care team.
EDUCATION : High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
