M&T Bank is hiring : Senior Design Producer in Buffalo

Location : Preference is hybrid within footprint. Open to remote outside of footprint.

Overview

We are a small (but mighty!) product design team focused on building the account servicing and account opening experience our bankers use to service M&T Bank Customers; both in branch, and in the call center. You will oversee design operations for a design team that is aligned to 8+ engineering teams in this space. You will own the orchestration of design ceremonies, sprint rhythms, documentation processes, and stakeholder collaboration; keeping us aligned, accountable, and focused on delivering high-quality experiences.

The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity, creates clarity, and partners closely with Design, Product, and Engineering to ensure team success. In the past, you will have coached and held design team members accountable to management expectations, organized quantitative and qualitative portfolio reviews to communicate work status and needs, and organized design operations improvements aimed at maturing individual team members, the program, and the department.

While our team is small, we are part of a larger design organization that spans across M&T and Wilmington Trust, offering strong support, collaboration, and alignment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the structure, scheduling, and facilitation of key design team ceremonies, including design reviews, standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and PI planning.
• Maintain and continuously improve documentation that clearly outlines how work moves through the design process from intake to launch
• Partner with non-design stakeholders to define working agreements and ensure alignment across product, technology, and design leadership.
• Manage the design team calendar up to two sprints out, ensuring meetings are timely, necessary, and inclusive of the right attendees.
• Ensure agendas are in place for meetings you lead and hold others accountable for documentation and follow-up.
• Drive preparation for program milestones, such as pre-PI planning, and align team readiness around key deliverables, dates, and deadlines.
• Support intake and refinement by capturing product roadmap priorities, conducting intake, and surfacing gaps in requirements.
• Lead efforts to track progress, resolve blockers, and ensure alignment between design teams and strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with other producers to ensure consistency in ceremonies, communication, and operations across design teams.
• Identify patterns in team feedback, retros, and blockers to propose process improvements and drive operational change.

Scope of Responsibilities

As a Senior Design Producer, you will support one or more Design Programs, ensuring operational health and collaboration across teams. You will drive clarity, rhythm, and accountability across ceremonies and documentation, serving as a connective tissue between Product Designers, Lead Product Designers, Product Owners, and Engineering partners. You will also contribute to broader design ops strategy and help evolve how we work as a design organization.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $82,783.41 - $137,972.36 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
