Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and service-driven Front of House Manager to oversee multi-station caf operations at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Reporting to the Resident General Manager, this role is focused on elevating service standards, streamlining day-to-day operations, and fostering a warm, professional guest experience. This is a daytime role, offering a balanced schedule that supports both professional growth and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and develop front-of-house team members across multiple caf stations.
  • Ensure seamless guest service with a focus on speed, hospitality, and professionalism.
  • Manage daily operations including staffing, scheduling, inventory, and quality control.
  • Partner with culinary leadership to maintain consistency in menu execution and presentation.
  • Oversee point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Support caf-based catering and special events as needed.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work culture that emphasizes service excellence.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in front-of-house management, ideally in a caf, food hall, or multi-station setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Proven ability to manage scheduling, inventory, and budgets.
  • Passion for hospitality with a hands-on management style.
  • Knowledge of food safety and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in POS and basic computer systems.
  • College degree or hospitality certification preferred, but not required.
