What You'll Do :
Business Development & Team Management
Develops and implements the sales plan in alignment with business unit goals. Sets new customer, revenue, profit and other targets for the sales team. Conducts regular one-on-one meetings and monthly book-of-business reviews to monitor pipeline health and activity levels while motivating and coaching sales team to consistently meet or exceed targets. Establishes clear KPIs for activity, pipeline conversion, and revenue growth. Participates in high-level negotiations to close deals. Ensures accurate use of Salesforce or CRM tools for pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Reviews and improves sales processes to increase efficiency and win rates and tracks team performance against both leading indicators (activities) and lagging indicators (results). Achieves or exceeds monthly, quarterly and annual assigned sales targets for new customers, volume, revenue, and margin. Recruits, onboards, and retains top sales talent.
Collaboration & Coordination
Oversees and ensures sales teams work closely with operations, pricing, account management, and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding, service delivery and account graduation. Monitor early shipment activity to confirm service performance meets customer expectations. Provides feedback to internal teams on customer requirements, service performance, and competitive positioning.
Reporting & CRM Management
Delivers weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance reports to senior leadership. Provide market intelligence updates to guide pricing and trade decision-making.
Education & Credentials : Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. Strong leadership and people management skills. Data-driven decision-making and forecasting accuracy. Skilled in contract negotiation and high-value deal closing. Ability to communicate compelling value propositions effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to utilize problem solving skills. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to mentor, coach, train and / or supervise employees. Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, correspondences, and other written materials. Ability to onboard new accounts while making the transition seem seamless to the customer. Ability to build relationships with current and new accounts while sharing previous experience and / or expertise to fellow co-workers and customers.
Working Conditions : Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time. Extensive travel may be required.
Experience : 5 years prior sales and logistics experience, including knowledgeable of industry related issues in transportation and / or supply chain management. 3 Years of sales management experience. Technical Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, Excel and customer relationship management tools, such as Salesforce.
