MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION BUS OPERATOR (8400)
(CDL/PERMIT LICENSE REQUIRED)

The Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transit Administration is seeking courteous, customer-service-focused full-time Bus Operators. Qualifying candidates must be at least 21 years and possess the ability to satisfactorily complete the bus operator candidate assessments, background checks, and medical examination including the federally mandated Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. The most desirable candidates are those who currently possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Bus and Air Brakes endorsements. A copy of the CDL license will be verified prior to taking the assessments.

During training and after, CDL license/permit holders with valid Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with no restrictions earn an hourly rate of $26.99

The MTA Bus Operator position is represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1300.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED). Must have two (2) years of continuous employment (with the same employer) or a combined two(2) years of verifiable full or part-time student status and employment history.

A minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications


A current valid CDL License/Permit with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with no restrictions is required.
