Job Summary
This role involves performing Computed Tomography (CT) scans to generate detailed images of internal organs and tissues, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating patients effectively.
Position Overview
We have a new part-time opportunity for a CT / X-ray Technologist. Candidates must be available for overnight shifts on Sundays, from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education : Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Licenses / Certifications :
- Must have Basic or Advanced Life Support certification.
- Current Texas Medical Board (MRT) license or temporary license is required.
- Registered CT Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or NMTCB (CT) is necessary.
- One of the following, with documented CT training :
- Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R)
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT-N)
- Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years as a Radiologic Technologist with CT education is preferred.Ability to assist in lifting and maneuvering patients as needed.Key Responsibilities
Conduct CT scans by preparing patients, explaining procedures, administering contrast as needed, positioning patients, selecting imaging techniques, and ensuring quality of scans.Record and monitor patient data accurately.Perform quality assurance checks on CT equipment and assist with accreditation processes.Handle emergency calls within the department and may be required to work on weekends or at other locations as necessary.Ensure safe practices for patients and staff by adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and standards.Engage in continuous development by fulfilling educational requirements and supporting departmental goals, acting as a mentor for less experienced staff.Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate care and personalized experiences for all community members.Complete additional tasks as assigned.
