Job descriptionDirect reports : Supervisors and / or Leads Reports to : The Director of Operations for Piney Flats Making Safety a priority. All departmental employees know the safety rules and procedures All departmental employees know the required PPE All departmental employees are held accountable to follow the rules, procedures, and PPE requirements Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of production employees to meet production targets. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards. Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to develop skills and maintain high performance. Track and update competency matrix for all employees within your department. Track production data, prepare reports, and communicate results to leadership. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Maintain effective communication between shifts, departments, and leadership. Address employee concerns promptly and work with HR on performance management as needed. Leads by example. Creates an environment that drives engagement, critical thinking, innovation and continuous improvement at all levels of the assign department and the organization based on the Microporous Culture Pledge. With discipline, focus, planning and accountability, ensures assigned areas meet or exceed established KPI standards. Takes prompt and effective remedial measures when targets are not achieved Responsible to lead data driven continuous improvement initiatives in the department that constantly drive improvement, including but not limited to productivity, capacity optimization, on-time delivery, quality, data integrity, safety, health, environmental In conjunction with Maintenance and Engineering Manager, acts as the lead coordinator of all planned shutdowns (weekly, annual, etc…) and departmental TPM events to ensure proper planning, adequate resources, full risk assessment, and exceptional execution. All line re-starts are completed per schedule Ensures proper staffing to meet or exceed company objectives that will drive positive results. Responsible for on-boarding, technical skill development, vacation planning, increasing departmental accountability, prompt and effective discipline (with HR) and recognition recommendations as significant achievements / milestones are achieved Recommends capital expenditures and asset upgrades that will exceed stated KPI performance, improve reliability, reduce hazardous waste streams, extend the life of the asset and other investments for the assigned area(s). During the budgeting process and then throughout the year, leads the DMC process as it relates to key manufacturing parameters including uptime, yield, throughput, labor management, materials, energy, maintenance expenses and overhead allocations. Ensures the operations teams and scheduling processes operate with a “customer centric” mindset so that Microporous is viewed as the supplier of choice for reliability, quality, innovation and total customer experience. Serves as an active member of the Piney Flats Operations Team, contributing to the development, evaluation and execution of Microporous’ tactical business plans and objectives. Direct facility operations in accordance with all Federal / National, State, Local, & Corporate rules and regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety. Ensure plans and programs are developed and implemented and the necessary resources are allocated to assure continued and sustained compliance with Federal / National, State, Local, and Corporate environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations. Ensure the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System program is developed and, Communicate applicable Federal / National, State, Local, Corporate, and Facility rules and regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety to employees under their supervision. Correct employees that violate Federal / National, State, Local, Corporate, and Facility rules and regulations regarding environmental, health, and safety. Regularly required to stand for a period of time, walk routinely on the production floor. Occasional bending, climbing, reaching, sitting, pushing and pulling, twisting, stooping and kneeling.
