We are seeking an experienced, qualified, reputable Commercial Foodservice Equipment Repair Technician with experience in troubleshooting and repairing gas commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment. Duties include : Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs units while in the field. Performs on-site equipment installations and start-up training. Educates customers on preventive maintenance. Completes and submits all necessary paperwork within required timelines (parts order, truck inventory, expenses reports, invoicing, etc.). Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly truck, along with accurate parts and tool inventory. Collaborates with manufacturer’s parts and service department for parts ordering and scheduling follow up calls. Provides on call / weekend service according to schedule : o Example Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday schedule. o Potential for on call rotation every 3 weeks according to staffing. o Some overtime may be required. Working Conditions : The territory that the Field Service Technician will cover is to support warehouses in the following locations : the District of Columbia (DC), Virginia (VA) and Maryland (MD). Working conditions are on-site (customer) to perform duties and on the road. Must be well organized and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment. Must be able to work autonomously. Occasionally may need to travel outside of area to support other regions as needed. Work Schedule : o 8 hours per day (some overtime may be required) o 5 days per week, Monday to Friday (except for on call week ->
1 weekday off in lieu of on call weekend) o On-call evenings and weekends every 3 weeks Requirements include : Possess a minimum 5-8 years of gas cooking equipment experience (experience on gas rotisseries is considered an asset). Possess a minimum 5-8 years of relevant food service industry experience. Is willing to act as brand ambassador while performing field-related duties. Able to use hands for fine manipulation of hand tools. Job requires walking, standing, driving, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, and turning for the better part of 8 hours per day. Must provide own hand tools. Specialized testing / repair equipment will be provided (multi-meter, manometer, etc.) Is reliable and well organized. Is customer oriented. Hold Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) certification for gas and electrical or equivalent is a strong asset. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) with Spanish as a strong asset. Possess a valid driving license, with a clean driving record, to perform duties.
