Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the Critical Care Float Pool in a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a valid CA RN license and strong ICU skills.
Responsibilities
Work in the Critical Care Float Pool of a Level 1 trauma centerFloat between ICU and Step Down units, including ED and PACU admit hold populationsNight shifts, part-time schedule (2x12-hour shifts, 7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am)Care for patients requiring ICU and step-down level of careUse of Epic and Cerner EMR systems is requiredFloating is required throughout the Critical Care DivisionCare responsibilities include dysrhythmia management, EKG / ECG operations, cardiovascular and neurocritical interventions, and advanced IV and sedation protocolsResponsibilities include management of central lines, arterial lines, and advanced monitoring equipment such as EVD and ICP monitorsMust be comfortable providing care to complex multisystem, post-cardiac, post-neuro, and trauma patientsParticipation in pre-start and annual online modules requiredBlocked and self-scheduling are not permittedNo RTO permitted in the first two weeks of assignment; maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract preferred, all RTO must be submitted up frontLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersCandidates who were previously employed must have been gone at least one year to return as travelersRequirements
Active CA RN license in hand at the time of application (EMSA not accepted)Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredEpic charting experience required and must be documented in work historyCerner charting experience requiredMust pass EKG exam (up to three attempts)CPI Blue Card must be obtained before start (MAB or online CPI not accepted)Two recent supervisor references required for considerationNo background or Nursys violations allowedFirst-time travelers are acceptedBenefits
