Performs general repair and maintenance of architectural and structural systems in county buildings. Items such as doors, windows, floors, walls, ceiling stairs, office furniture, shelving, roof repairs and other related work. Safely operates, cleans, maintains and stores a variety of stationery and hand tools, inspects facilities to identify architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing deficiencies, also conducts building safety inspections. Prepares work requests for all necessary architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs and maintenance, coordinates with facility users to correct deficiencies in building systems. A flexible working schedule is required as well as overtime, call-back, and on-call.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the tenth grade; plus completion of an acceptable apprentice-level training program in a specific trade with one year of experience performing building maintenance, repair and / or construction work independently, or two years of varied and responsible full performance-level experience in building maintenance, repair or construction trades.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED :
Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and pre-employment medical evaluation to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for an extended period of time. Must be able to climb extension ladder and scaffolds up to 50 feet. Must be able to lift up and carry up to 75 lbs. with assistance of dolly, lift or staff. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
