Job Description : Responsibilities :
- Support plant start-up and commissioning processes.
- Manage electrical commissioning for assigned systems and drive them to completion / handover.
- Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems disciplines to complete all required testing from component level through integrated operation.
- Complete testing per Corporate Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP), Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPP), and project-specific requirements.
- Review test records, data sheets, procedures, and subcontractors' test submittals for compliance.
- Analyze activities to determine scope, time, and resource requirements.
- Plan and schedule CSU execution activities, including complex evolutions across multiple disciplines.
- Prepare test packages, review engineering designs, and vendor submittals.
- Coordinate with construction and other commissioning disciplines to complete testing.
- Direct supplier Technical Advisors (TA), monitor activities, and control expenditures within budget.
- Provide input on revisions to system descriptions, vendor manuals, and design changes.
- Perform live electrical work per corporate procedures.
- Interface closely with management and operations personnel while maintaining project schedule and financial awareness.
- Review preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for commissioned equipment.
- Supervise and direct subcontract personnel and field craft for commissioning activities.
- Prepare system testing and turnover documentation.
- Participate in turnover walkdowns and manage punch list items.
- Initiate requisitions for field purchases and material takeoffs.
- Perform and monitor equipment testing for compliance with specifications.
- Prepare job hazard analyses (JHA), field hazard assessments (FLHA), and ensure safety compliance.
- Follow NFPA 70E requirements for electrical work.
Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in engineering, hard science, or mathematics (or international equivalent) from an accredited institution.Industrial or military license / certification / qualification in electrical work preferred.2–5 years of relevant experience or sufficient specialized courses in engineering / science discipline.6–9 years of relevant work experience accepted in place of degree.Experience in testing or maintenance of low to medium voltage switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems.Experience with protective relay calibration desirable.At least 2 years' experience supervising craft electrical workers for commissioning or maintenance.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Physically able to work in challenging environments (climbing ladders, scaffolding, confined spaces, walking uneven surfaces, etc.).Experience with low and medium voltage electrical systems.Knowledge of engineering systems, startup / operations processes, and industrial electrical commissioning.Familiarity with regulatory standards, energy isolation management (lock-out / tag-out), and NFPA-70E.Experience with Instrumentation & Control System interfacing / testing.Experience in subcontractor management and package development.Knowledge of permitting, work authorizations, and LOTO processes.Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Access).Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.Ability to handle conflicting deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks.Must pass drug screen, physical, and background check; must be able to obtain a NASA badge.Willingness to travel for factory acceptance testing and meetings.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Previous startup, commissioning, and testing experience with client standards and processes.Familiarity with project scheduling, system boundaries, test packages, and procedure writing.Previous NASA or aerospace commissioning and testing experience.Knowledge of NASA installation methods, technical requirements, and communication standards.Experience with Allen Bradley DLR, TeamWorks, Setroute, and Smart Completions.J-18808-Ljbffr
