Our facility has nine OR's, three pain management / lithotripsy treatment rooms and CT scan radiology services. There are also nine patient and family-friendly inpatient rooms for longer recovery needs.
TIS was founded and is jointly owned by a select group of highly-acclaimed Dallas surgeons and Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas.
TIS surgeons specialize in orthopedic surgery, back and spine surgery, pain management, ENT procedures, plastic surgery, foot and ankle surgery, urological surgical care, sports medicine and other specialties.
Job Summary :
The Patient Care Technician assists the Nurses in providing quality patient care.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Assists with the flow of patients from waiting area to exam rooms in various departments.Transportation of patient via use of wheelchair or walker as needed. Assists patients with personal medical needs.Recognizes, reports, and reacts to actual potential emergency situations.Assists patients with ADL's as neededAssists with lab needs as pertinent under the guidance of R.N. Takes and charts vital signs.Restocks rooms, folds and puts away laundry, performs housekeeping duties, checks sharps box, gloves, tissues and empties linen bags daily.Communicate professionally with patients, family members, and peers.Strategically move to different departments to provide assistance as needed.Must work within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education & Training :
A High School Diploma or GED is required.Medical Assisting or Nurse Assistant program
Licenses / Certifications :
Certification as a Medical Assistant and / or Nurse Assistant.CPR Certified.
Experience : Key Skills :
1-3 years as a Patient Care Technician.
