About the Position
- Develops information needs for process evaluations and project scoping. Works with client to collect required information as needed.
- Creates new or updates to Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Develops material and energy balances
- Contribute to sizing and specification of process equipment and instrumentation such as control valves, PSVs, etc.
- Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP) experience desired, with facilitation experience a plus
- Performs process simulations, hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with process engineering software (i.e. Aspen Plus, HYSYS, PRO / II, UniSim, ProSim, proprietary programs etc.)
- Experience in industrial projects including refinery / chemicals / renewable energy
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the project team.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of Process Engineering experience in a multi-discipline environment in the refining or chemical manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated experience in Process Design and Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of industry codes and good engineering practices.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Climbing (stairs / ladders) and field visits are required.
- Exposure to outdoors
- Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
