SUMMARY
O'Neill Contractors, Inc. is the leading service-disabled veteran-owned general contractor in the Chicagoland area, specializing in managing federal government construction projects ranging from $5M to $15M. While primarily focused on the Midwest, O'Neill has completed projects nationwide for clients such as the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), NAVFAC, US Coast Guard (USCG), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and GSA, among others.
We are experiencing significant growth and are looking to add a Construction Project Manager to our team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of relevant project management experience with a general contractor and a proven track record managing federal projects valued between $10M and $20M.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager will oversee all phases of projects from pre-construction to closeout, including buyout, scheduling, subcontractor management, and other project management duties on federal projects ranging from $10M to $20M. Key responsibilities include :
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all project activities.
- Achieving project objectives based on pre-job planning.
- Managing project buyout, scope, and pricing negotiations with subcontractors.
- Monitoring and controlling budgets and schedules.
- Analyzing job costs versus budgets and providing monthly project status updates.
- Providing weekly project reports.
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor payment applications and submitting owner payment requests.
- Reviewing submittals, RFIs, and change orders from subcontractors.
- Representing the company at project meetings.
- Managing project logs, manuals, as-built drawings, and punch lists.
- Ensuring financial processes and reports are completed accurately and timely.
- Ensuring projects are completed on schedule and meet profit goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 8 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager with federal government projects.Strong understanding of the USACE 3-Phase Quality Control System.Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.Deep knowledge of federal construction practices, standards, and processes.Proficiency in interpreting complex construction drawings and specifications.Experience in budget and schedule management.Negotiation skills for subcontract agreements.Ability to lead field supervisors.Highly organized with comprehensive project documentation skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Project, Teams, and Outlook.BENEFITS
