Yeo & Yeo is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant in Kalamazoo, MI. We are a people-first accounting and advisory firm offering flexible remote, hybrid, and in-office work options. The role focuses on supporting client tax needs and developing a public accounting career within a dynamic team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Complete basic individual tax returns and various entity tax returns (1120S, 1040, 1065) with accuracy and efficiency
- Reconcile trial balances to source documents and prepare basic depreciation schedules
- Understand payroll tax return filings (941, 940, W-2, 1099s) and reconcile payroll liabilities
- Lea? staff and complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Recognize opportunities to specialize in tax areas of interest
- Assist with basic financial statement understanding and data entry tasks in QuickBooks (import / export, data entry, report preparation)
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or related field (150 credit hours preferred)Aspiration to become a CPA and pursue a public accounting careerAbility to conduct tax research and demonstrate a sense of urgency to meet goalsTechnical Abilities / Productivity
Proficient in completing basic individual and entity tax returnsFamiliar with Fixed Asset Solutions, Advance Flow, and ACSUnderstanding of basic financial statements and ability to reconcile payroll and bank statementsBasic QuickBooks proficiencyAbility to lead staff and work with limited supervisionPersonal Development
