American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift position requiring a CA RN license and weekend / holiday availability.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
  • Majority of patients are from birth to 2 years old, with some up to 21 years old
  • Float to NICU and CTICU as needed, with travelers floating first
  • Night shifts : 4x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30) from Thursday to Monday, with four weekend shifts per month required
  • EPIC is used for documentation and basic proficiency is required
  • Self-scheduling is utilized
  • Must be available to work two out of three holiday weekends during assignment
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Locals are accepted at the local pay rate; candidates living within 50 miles qualify as locals
  • Pre-approved time off requests must be included at time of application and be less than 5 days
  • Travelers may be required to complete up to 8 hours of EPIC training and mandatory modules prior to start
  • Previous permanent staff members are not eligible for this position

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU RN experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Certifications : BLS and PALS required
  • One reference from supervisor within the past 2 years is required
  • Must have no disciplinary actions on Nursys record
