The Role

We are se eking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead programs involving on-prem AV system s (labs benches HILs dev kits data ingest and supporting network infrastructure) and to driv e plan s addressing gaps in people infrastructure and capacity . As a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the AV Infrastructure team at GM you will play a critical role in driving the development testing and delivery of complex large-scale traditional and AI enhanced infrastructure to accelerate the delivery of next-generation autonomy software.

You will work alongside AV infrastructure and software teams to help drive the scale and efficient u se of the se on-prem hardware & software platform s. Additionally y o u ll handle running project timelines resources and scope across multiple teams ensuring alignment among all partners and driving projects efficiently. This role requires a blend of technical ability leadership and critical thinking to innovate and drive the team toward achieving GMs goals.

What Youll Do

Partner with Technical Leads of customer engineering teams to turn their technical specs into achievable implementation roadmaps including planning milestones and identifying cross-team dependencies including RACI framework integrations

Drive the formulation and review of department roadmaps and objectives on a quarterly and monthly cadence

Work with Engineering Managers to ensure teams take on a balanced assignment of critical initiatives iterative improvements and proactive engineering excellence investments. Support calculation of team capacity vs estimated workload and ensure team s can deliver on their commitments

Define and track KPIs program metrics and validation milestones to ensure timely delivery of engineering achievements

Work with Technical Leads on design decisions and contribute to the department design reviews to ensure we continue to rai se our technical standards

Ensure smooth execution of programs and continuously improve execution over time

Proactively identify risks and blockers across software and operationsand drive mitigation plans in real time

Lead program reviews with technical and executive stakeholders across AI Developer Experience teams

Establish confidence from partner teams to continuously minimize distractions or conflicts and push groups to improve their output

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Proven experience in technical program management especially with production systems and network ing infrastructure

Proven experience with managing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems support ing software develop ment and test through simulation

Experience with s ystem BOM development and standardization s

Experience with on-prem d atacenter footprint capacity planning

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership

Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect high-level architecture to on-the-ground execution details

Familiarity with project tracking and status reporting tools like Jira and Confluence

Passionate about AV technology and its impact on the world

BS in Engineering Computer Science or 15 years of an equivalent technical experience in complex technical systems demonstrating a strong track record of successful project delivery

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Deep familiarity with hybrid cloud architecture s

Strong experience with both production and lab -ba se d test bench configurations

This role is ba se d remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Austin Warren Milford Mountain View Sunnyvale you are expected to report to that location three times a week.

Company Vehicle : Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note : program participants are required to purchase / lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

The salary range for this role is $194400 to $350500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential : An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
