Entrance Control Security Officer
Patrols casino premises and / or guards casino posts to maintain safety and security; prevent underage gambling and casino floor access, protect assets and ensure observance of applicable laws and casino regulations.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Provides the highest level of service to our guests, maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor / appearance
- Creates a positive experience for guests by creating a sense of safety by having a visible presence of security around the property
- Creates a positive experience for guests entering the casino by offering a warm welcome and a fond farewell
- Displays an upbeat and positive attitude with our guests and team members
- Conducts proactive introductions with our guests
- Remains knowledgeable of property events, promotions, property amenities, and restaurant hours
- Assists patrons by providing directions to property amenities
- Assists in the execution of emergency procedures as directed by security leadership
- Performs specific security duties as outlined by the Security Department policies and procedures to ensure the protection of all company assets as well as the safety and welfare of guests and team members
- Reports suspicious or unusual activity to security leadership
- Gathers information necessary for preparing security incident reports / investigations
- Documenting a complete and thorough investigation of incidents
- Ensures department compliance by making all necessary and proper notifications
- Requests to see identification from all visitors (2nd verifying ID from guests 21 - 25 years of age)
- Follows department Standard Operating Procedures in regards to the process of verifying identification
- Verifies a patron's identification to prevent those under the age of 21 from gaining access to the gaming floor
- Maintains the highest level of vigilance at casino entrances and does not allow themselves to become distracted
- Remains knowledgeable regarding the different types of manufactured IDs on the market
- Remains knowledgeable regarding the new security features present on state issued IDs
- Communicates to supervision when changes are seen with state licenses
- Handles situations with a sense of compassion and maintaining confidentiality of security related incidents
- Handles sensitive guest matters with the utmost level of professionalism
- Handles turned away guests with respect and courtesy
- Resolves guest issues using all available resources
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Must be 21 years of age or older.High school diploma or equivalent.Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or security field preferredPrior experience in performing ID checks to verify age preferredCertifications, Licenses, and / or Registrations :
Gaming license / registration as required by jurisdiction(s).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to communicate to a group of people, with a command voice, to separate a crowd into youthful and non-youthful groups to expedite the carding processAbility to examine an identification, with a critical eye, looking for potentially forged, fraudulent, and / or manufactured documentsAbility to compare a document / license photo with the person presenting the identificationAbility to handle repetitive workExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to read and write EnglishAbility to perform basic math in order to calculate a person's date of birthAbility to communicate with Team Members and guestsAbility to be a team playerAbility to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidaysPhysical Requirements :
