Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Study blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished work pieces.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as coolant flow, and depth of cut.
• Enter commands to retrieve, input, and edit computerized machine control parameters.
• Machine and mount fixturing for all production runs and set machine positioning for part production.
• Ability to assemble measure and load tooling for subsequent operations into the tool-changers.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control parameters as required.
• Uses micrometers, calipers, depth gauges and other precision measuring devices to confirm part geometry meets tolerance specifications.
• Confers with production operators, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
• Assemble and preset tooling for next operation during automated cycle to reduce machine downtime.
• Ability to maintain, clean and lubricate machines as required.
Requirements:
• Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent from GED or technical school,
• Six months to four years related experience or training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
