About the Role

Our client, a leading food services company, is seeking a seasoned General Manager, Food & Nutrition Services to lead daily operations at a large  Hospital Center , a 900-bed flagship facility committed to compassionate, patient-first care. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing all aspects of food and nutrition services, including patient meals, retail dining, doctors lounge, and catering.

As the senior-most leader on-site, you'll drive operational excellence, financial performance, and a culture of service that enhances the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all food service operations across multiple service lines
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and satisfying food experiences
  • Meet and exceed financial targets and client expectations
  • Build strong relationships with nursing, clinical teams, and hospital leadership
  • Develop strategic plans and foster a positive, inclusive team culture
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo standards and DC regulations
  • Oversee administrative functions including payroll, cash control, and special events

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership in healthcare food & nutrition services
  • Strong background in operations, finance, and client relations
  • Passion for patient experience and nursing collaboration
  • Experience managing large teams and multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance in Washington, DC
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience, in a large venue, hospital or hotel (min. 900 beds and thousands of people served daily)
  • Minimum 5 years of functional experience in food service leadership
  • Prior experience as a General Manager in a healthcare setting is required
