Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Applications Engineer to join our team at Enercon. In this role, you’ll manage and interpret Requests for Quotation (RFQs) , review technical specifications and drawings, and develop accurate project proposals. You’ll work closely with our Sales and Engineering teams to ensure projects meet technical standards and customer requirements while maintaining efficiency and consistency.
You’ll also prepare detailed cost estimates using the Epicor quoting tool , create electrical drawings, and support client presentations. This position involves working across departments to see projects through from start to finish and maintaining all documentation in compliance with Enercon’s Quality Management System .
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements.
- Prepare and manage all project documentation, drawings, and proposals on time.
- Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for proposals.
- Coordinate project activities from start to completion with internal teams.
- Ensure all designs follow company and industry standards.
Proposal Development
Create functional, compliant, and cost-effective project proposals.Interpret RFQs and specifications, ensuring proposals meet client expectations.Collaborate with Sales Managers and engineers to address technical queries.Support Sales during customer meetings and presentations.Ensure compliance with codes such as OSHA, NEC, UL508, UL891, UL1008, Annex J, and UL1558 .Technical Coordination
Perform calculations, analyses, and design evaluations as needed.Collaborate with mechanical teams for switchgear, cabling, and system integration .Provide technical guidance throughout all project stages.Expertise In
Electrical power generation and industrial control systems.Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.Proposal and quotation development using ERP tools (Epicor preferred).Electrical codes, standards, and compliance requirements.Microsoft Office Suite and design software.Technical documentation and customer support.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).Technical degree or equivalent experience in electrical applications.Hands-on experience in engine / generator set or related power systems.Strong understanding of electrical theory and power generation components .Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Position Requirements
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.Occasional travel may be required.Work Environment
Primarily office-based, with occasional work in the manufacturing shop environment .
