- STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE : Expectations include ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation : Graduation from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. New hires must have current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of hire.\n\nExperience : Experience as a Registered Nurse is essential; all RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.\n\nLicensure : Must be currently licensed and registered in the State of Connecticut, with clinical specialty certification encouraged.\n\nSpecial Skills : All RNs are encouraged to seek advancement through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.\n\nPhysical Demand : This position requires prolonged standing, walking, and the use of sight, hearing, and touch. Exposure to infectious diseases is possible, and the candidate will also face physical, mental, and emotional challenges including exposure to end-of-life conditions. Moderate stress and potential injury risk from patient care are also factors.
