Base pay range
$60,000.00 / yr - $90,000.00 / yr
Summary
Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing Operations, the Manufacturing Controls / Software Engineer is responsible for aiding production in producing products to the correct process, troubleshooting equipment and test fixtures, assisting with testing functions, improving processes, developing HMIs, troubleshooting PLC issues and collecting & pareto data to drive improvement on the production line.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for manufacturing processes, focusing on automation and process improvement.
- Implement and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, HMI (Human Machine Interface) configurations, and other control components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of control systems with overall manufacturing operations.
- Conduct continuous improvement activities to enhance production efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to controls and automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
- Stay abreast of the latest in control technology and introduce innovative solutions to drive advancements in manufacturing processes.
- Assist in development of an internal MES.
- Any other duties assigned to improve manufacturing processes
Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years' experience in an equipment controls engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.Experience with robotics, automation, and process control systems.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Work Environment & Physical Requirements
