Insurance Agent Opportunity
Garcia-Taylor Insurance Agency in Thorndale, PA is looking for a motivated and people-oriented Full-Time Insurance Agent to join our growing team. Location : 3615 Lincoln Highway, Thorndale, PA (In-Office)
Hours : Monday Friday, 9 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM Lunch 12 : 30-1 : 00
Pay : Competitive base salary + commissions
Type : Full-Time
Position Overview : As an Insurance Agent, you'll work directly with clients to help them protect what matters most their homes, vehicles, businesses, and more. You'll receive step-by-step training to learn our systems, products, and sales strategies while developing strong customer service and problem solving skills. We will cover the cost of the required 24-hour pre-licensing course and up to two state exam attempts for your Property & Casualty license.
Responsibilities :
- Learn and master quoting, sales, and policy processing
- Provide excellent customer service to new and existing clients
- Identify client needs and recommend appropriate coverage options
- Manage renewals, endorsements, and policy changes
- Build relationships with prospects through phone calls, email, and community networking
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and agency standards
Ideal Candidate :
Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred, but not requiredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)Motivated to learn and grow professionallyNo prior insurance experience required training and licensing assistance providedOn-the-Job Training Program Duration : 3-4 Months (with ongoing development)
Month 1 Introduction & Foundations
Week 1 : Agency orientation, onboarding, system logins, and workflow overviewWeek 2 : Insurance basics policy types, coverages, terminologyWeek 3 : Client service fundamentals phone etiquette, email communication, documentationWeek 4 : Observing and shadowing experienced agents during client calls & meetingsMonth 2 Licensing & Guided Practice
Weeks 5 6 : Begin the 24-hour state-approved pre-licensing course (paid for by the agency) and study for the examWeeks 7 8 : Process simple policy changes under supervision, learn quoting systems, practice identifying client needsMonth 3 Exam & Sales Skills Development
Weeks 9 10 : Sit for the Pennsylvania Property & Casualty licensing exam (agency pays for up to two test attempts)Weeks 11 12 : Handle inbound quote requests, create proposals, and participate in marketing activitiesRequirement : By the end of Month 3, you must successfully pass the P&C licensing exam to continue in the positionMonth 4 Independent Work with Support
Manage a small book of business with mentorshipContinue skill refinement in sales, coverage recommendations, and client retention strategiesBy the end of the program, you will be fully licensed and capable of independently quoting, selling, and servicing policies while continuing to grow within the agency.
