AUTO BODY TECHNICIAN
Our Client is seeking a highlyskilled Structural Auto Body Technician to join their team. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for repairing andrestoring vehicles that have sustained structural damage due toaccidents or other incidents.
The ideal candidate should have astrong background in repairing and rebuilding vehicle framesaligning frames and suspension systems replacing damaged bodypanels and parts and using specialized tools andequipment.
Responsibilities :
- Conductingthorough assessments of structural damage on vehicles to determinethe scope of repairsneeded.
- Disassembling damagedvehicles to assess the extent of structural damage and identify anyhidden damage.
- Repairing andrebuilding vehicle frames to factory specifications usingspecialized tools andtechniques.
- Aligning frames andsuspension systems to ensure proper vehicle handling andsafety.
- Replacing damaged bodypanels and parts with new or used parts depending on the customerspreference and budget.
- Utilizingspecialized welding techniques to repair damaged metal partsincluding MIG TIG and resistancewelding.
- Utilizing computerizedmeasuring systems to ensure proper alignment andrepairs.
- Communicating effectivelywith team members and customers to ensure clear understanding ofrepair needs andtimelines.
- Maintaining a clean andorganized work area and adhering to safety guidelines andprocedures at all times.
- Keepinguptodate with the latest automotive technology and repairtechniques.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- High schooldiploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2years of experience in auto body repair with an emphasis onstructural repairs.
- Knowledge ofwelding techniques and use of specialized tools andequipment.
- Experience in frame andsuspension alignment.
- Ability toread and interpret repair orders and technicalmanuals.
- Attention to detail andquality workmanship.
- Strongcommunication and interpersonalskills.
- Ability to work well in ateam environment.
- Relevantcertification(s) such as ASE Structural Technician or ICAR GoldClass certification ispreferred.
- Experience utilizingCarOLiner Chief Genesis or Celette highlypreferred
PhysicalDemands :
- Ability to standfor extended periods oftime.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to bend stoop and reachoverhead.
