- Assists in processing Daily Kitchen Production Sheets.
- Delivers sheets and supplies to tray line.
- Greets and helps volunteers load their vehicles if needed.
- Maintains records and ensures security of clients keys.
- Assist with office phone calls.
- Sort Red / Blue route tags daily so they are in order for the next day's delivery.
- Review delivery route sheets daily and report findings / make calls to clients as needed.
- Scan any UPRs to MOW Program Assistant daily as they arrive in the office.
- Assist with the monthly menus by printing, folding, and sorting so they are ready to insert in with statements / invoices.
- After working at the Congregate Site, stop by the MOW kitchen to bring up any office items / paperwork left in the kitchen so that they can be processed in the office.
- Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
- Informs the Supervisor of unusual occurrences. Provides information to Midland Care staff, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists in other areas of the Midland organization as may be needed.
- Assures excellent customer service is provided.
- Responsible for day-to-day Congregate Dining Center operations. This includes setting up meal service area including but not limited to steam table, drinks, and required service ware.
- Ensures that required supplies have been ordered timely and appropriately accounted for.
- Oversees the taking of reservations and calling in of orders at the Congregate Dining Center.
- Ensures that all Congregate Dining Center participants have an up-to-date Uniform Program Registration (UPR) form on file.
- Assures that all volunteer meal routes are picked-up from the Congregate Dining Center and call the MOW office if a volunteer does not show up to pick up the route.
- Utilizes evolving technology as assigned.
- Assists with coordination of shelf-stable meals for clients.
- Promotes socialization of customers at the Congregate Dining Center.
- Promotes the health and well-being of older individuals at the Congregate Dining Center by assisting such individuals to gain access to nutrition and other disease prevention and health promotion services to delay the onset of adverse health conditions resulting from poor nutritional health or sedentary behavior by contacting the Meals on Wheels office staff.
- Delivers home delivered meals as directed.
- Possesses interpersonal skills that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication throughout the organization.
- Model attendance at Midland events and in-services.
- Accurately counts hot and cold food items in all volunteer bags before they leave the kitchen.
- Distributes satisfaction survey for dining center, frozen and home delivered clients.
- Participates in departmental and / or agency-wide quality improvement activities.
- Recognizes own limits and seeks help and guidance from Supervisor as appropriate.
- Attends mandatory all-staff meetings and maintain Dining Center Training Manuals (if assigned).
- Prepares and submit weekly and monthly reports, including but not limited to Timecards, Reservation, Nutrition Education and Volunteer Tracking Sheets from the Congregate Dining Center.
- Understands and demonstrates compliance with Midland policies and procedures.
- Participates in agency Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program.
- Completes annual mandatory education requirements.
- Seeks opportunities to participate in marketing and fundraising activities.
- Seeks opportunities for professional growth, including demonstrating the ability to cooperate with Midland Care professional staff of all disciplines and to receive constructive performance feedback.
- Recruits and organize Congregate Dining Center volunteers for daily operations including food service and clean-up after the meal.
- Develops partnerships within the community and educates community members and healthcare providers about Midland services as needed.
- Maintains inventory of all insulated bags, hot plates, ice packs and provides a monthly report to Supervisor.
- Disperses, retrieves, and forwards to the office staff all daily route sheets, correspondence and / or payments collected at the Congregate Dining Center and in the kitchen after meal delivery.
- Utilizes company resources in a prudent and appropriate manner. Is a good steward of company resources.
- Follows agency procedures / standards for productivity, attendance, use of PTO and approval of overtime.
- Manages time effectively to encompass job requirements, meetings, and continuing education.
- Utilizes supplies and equipment economically.
- Ensures that all participants have the opportunity to make a confidential donation.
Required : Minimum education requirement of high school graduation or equivalent GED. Capacity to communicate with people representing vast differences of professional, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds and ages.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports. Must possess a valid Kansas Drivers License, in force automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organizations insurability standard as defined by Midland policy.
Category III During normal work routine, this has no exposure to body substances. Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
Employees in these positions must follow the Presentative Measures as established in the Midland Care Exposure Control Plan.
