Supervisor, Immunohematology Reference Laboratory

Seattle, WA | Full-Time

Salary Range : $103,463.70 – $164,852 per year

Join a mission-driven, community-based organization with more than 70 years of leadership in transfusion medicine. We’re looking for a highly experienced Supervisor to lead operations in our Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL) — supporting critical care across the region.

What You’ll Do :

Lead and develop IRL staff, manage schedules, and oversee training and competency assessments

Maintain quality and regulatory compliance (CLIA, AABB, CAP, FDA)

Oversee testing accuracy, documentation, and turnaround time

Support cross-functional projects and continuous improvement using LEAN principles

Act as subject matter expert in complex antibody identification and rare blood services

Serve as on-call supervisor and participate in internal audits and external inspections

What We’re Looking For :

Certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) – required

5+ years of lab experience, including 2+ years in immunohematology reference testing

3+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred

Eligibility to perform high-complexity testing under CLIA

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work on-site, participate in an on-call rotation, and occasionally work holidays / weekends
