Our client, an established funeral home with a distinguished legacy in providing Jewish funeral services, seeks a seasoned Funeral Services Director to become part of their executive leadership. This represents a full-time, on-location opportunity.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Funeral Operations & Client Relations :
- Coordinate all service elements including removals, transfers, preparation logistics, and ceremonial details
- Conduct arrangement meetings with families, negotiate service contracts, and showcase available options, products, and benefits including military honors
- Lead visitations, funeral ceremonies, and graveside services as Master of Ceremonies
- Organize and execute funeral and memorial services following Jewish traditions and customs with dignity and compassion
- Manage pre-arrangement services and deliver ongoing family support and aftercare
- Deliver outstanding, customized service that surpasses family expectations
Administrative Leadership :
Oversee daily operations encompassing scheduling coordination, personnel management, and resource deployment for optimal service deliveryMaintain compliance with all professional, local, state, and federal regulatory requirementsOversee facility upkeep, grounds maintenance, vehicle fleet, and equipment functionality to ensure professional standards and operational readinessPrepare and process all necessary paperwork, agreements, legal documentation, and regulatory filings with precisionSupervise casket inventory, funeral merchandise, and supply managementDevelop and execute operational enhancements to improve service efficiency and qualityBusiness Development & Financial Oversight :
Contribute to strategic planning and attainment of revenue objectivesOversee operational budgets, authorize expenses, and implement effective cost managementChampion initiatives to drive sustainable business growth and case volume expansionTeam Management & Staff Leadership :
Direct and mentor funeral home personnel to achieve unified, superior service standardsEstablish clear performance expectations and uphold excellence benchmarksCultivate team ownership mindset and professional prideDeliver ongoing supervision, mentorship, and professional development supportCommunity Relations :

Essential Requirements
Credentials & Academic Background :
Valid driver's license requiredCurrent Funeral Director licensure in Ohio (full compliance with state board regulations mandatory)Technical certification in Mortuary Science or Funeral ServicesHigh school completion or equivalent diploma requiredBachelor's degree in Mortuary Science or relevant discipline preferred per state requirementsProfessional Background :
Proven history of delivering outstanding family care and serviceSuccessfully completed Funeral Director internship program1-2 years minimum experience within the funeral service sectorEvidence of increasing responsibility and career advancementHands-on experience overseeing funeral home daily operationsCore Competencies & Abilities :
