PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Nashville, TN 37207 (Tennessee nursing jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : February 23, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530 - $1640

On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, or acute care nursing role

BLS certification (American Heart Association required)

Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced healthcare environment

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit, monitoring and responding to changes in patient condition

Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform complex patient assessments and interventions

Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions

Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records (EHR)

Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant environment for patients and staff
