Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 3 years of OR and Level I trauma experience and a current IN or Compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Position based in a busy hospital operating room with a daily census of 70–80 cases across 21 roomsSpecialties include general surgery, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal roboticsWork schedule is night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Six call shifts are required every six weeks, and holiday coverage is mandatory; no block scheduling allowedFloating within the hospital and to affiliated hospitals is requiredCharting is done using Cerner EMRScrub attire is providedDuties include circulating and, if experienced, scrubbing in a variety of surgical specialtiesFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionCandidates must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidaysLocal candidates residing in Indiana are accepted for perioperative / surgical services positionsAny former permanent or PRN employees must have a minimum one-year break before applying as a travelerFree parking is available on sitePre-start learning modules are required and completed onlineRequirements
Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to startMinimum of 3 years of operating room RN experience, including Level I trauma experienceBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programAbility to circulate in the OR required; scrub experience preferredTwo supervisor references required for considerationModules must be completed prior to startBenefits
