Job Title : Cisco Wireless Field Engineer
Schedule : 40 hours / week, 5 days onsite per week - (On-site with travel throughout Connecticut)
Duration- 3-6 months +
Location : Hartford, CT
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate existing Cisco wireless infrastructure, including access points, controllers, configurations, and signal coverage.
- Document findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Implement remediation efforts based on assessment results (e.g., reconfiguration, optimization, hardware adjustments).
- Troubleshoot wireless performance issues and ensure stable, secure connectivity.
- Communicate progress, issues, and results with project leads and stakeholders.
- Ensure all work aligns with Cisco best practices and institutional requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Strong experience with Cisco wireless technologies, including access points, controllers, and associated tools.Hands-on experience performing wireless assessments, diagnostics, and remediation.Ability to interpret wireless heatmaps, coverage reports, and performance metrics.Comfortable working fully on-site and traveling throughout Connecticut.Strong problem-solving abilities and technical documentation skills.Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Wireless, or related.Prior experience working in higher education environments.Experience with wireless design tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet).
